Syed Asad Raza Abidi · Karachi

Syed Asad Raza Abidi is a Pakistani film director, editor and colorist, and the founder of Cinegma Films — an independent production banner built in Karachi on a single principle: cinema without compromise.

His flagship film Janjaal (Tussle) — a 23-minute Urdu psychological thriller starring Shamoon Abbasi, shot in 34 hours — has won 14 international awards across 9 countries and received a theatrical release at Arena Cinemas, Karachi in January 2025. A graduate of Indus University Karachi (BS Film & TV, 2025), Abidi works across the full pipeline: directing, cinematography, editing, DaVinci Resolve color grading, and sound design.

His filmography includes Portrait of Life, Main Aur Achu, the documentary Urdu Bazaar Karachi, and in-production originals Zawaal, A Soldier Beside Me and Payam e Dil. Through Cinegma Films he continues to develop genre-driven, visually precise short films rooted in Karachi and built for a global festival audience.
