Janjaal cast
Janjaal is led by Shamoon Abbasi, one of the most familiar faces in Pakistani film and television, as Raza — a police officer who reaches for a cursed golden pocket watch in the hope of undoing his son’s death. He is joined by Nazish Ali as Zareen and Danish Irshad as Azad. As Syed Asad recalls of casting Abbasi: “He read it and said yes. He’s a straightforward person. He responds to the work.”

Every member of the core crew of Janjaal was a student. Director Syed Asad Raza Abidi developed the film in his sixth semester of the Film & TV programme at Indus University, Karachi, and personally handled the edit, colour grade, VFX and 5.1 surround mix.
